Lead qualification
How to qualify leads before a discovery call
A discovery call costs you an hour. Some of those hours go to prospects who were never going to buy: no budget, no deadline, or a project you don't do. Qualifying before the call means knowing four things first.
The four things to know before you book
- Budget. Do they have a range, and does it fit your minimum?
- Timeline. When do they need it, and why then?
- Scope. What exactly do they want built or solved?
- Fit. Do they meet your must-haves, such as industry, team size or decision-maker?
Three ways to find out
- An intake form. Quick to set up, but vague answers pass straight through.
- A short screening call. It gets real answers, but costs you the time you were trying to save.
- A conversational intake. The prospect answers in a short conversation that follows up on vague answers. You read the result before deciding.
How BriefIntake does it
- Every prospect gets a six-minute, one-to-one conversation, spoken or typed.
- It asks the follow-ups you would, one question at a time.
- You get a scored brief with budget, timeline, scope, and whether they meet your bar.
- If they won't share their budget, the brief says so. It never fills in an answer.
- Hot leads get a Book button for your Calendly link. The rest you can skip.
Try BriefIntake on your next prospect.
